A one-of-a-kind chabu made from a single vintage Japanese silk kimono. Cut directly from the central spine of the original kimono, this runner features the dyed family crest along the edge, half on each side of chabu. The fabric is deep, matte black silk. Soft, supple silk with a gentle drape that rests completely flat across wood, stone, or tatami surfaces. The runner is fully reversible, composed with an asymmetrical dialogue between pattern and empty space.
Side A: Features a rich cluster of stylized pine needles in gold, moss, and warm earthen tones at one end, which gently yields to an expansive field of deep, matte black silk with half of the vintage crest visible along the opposite edge.
Side B: Carries a mirrored, more subdued continuation of the same pine motif, softer and more minimalist in its golden detailing, for a calmer, everyday tea setup.
