This vase is made from stoneware clay, unglazed and fired over 1330°C. Its soft markings and nuanced play of color are the result of the unpredictable nature of woodfiring. The fire, ash, and flames leave their signature, making this piece unique. Only one was made, shaped and fired as part of a woodfiring kiln process. It is glazed inside to make it easier to maintain the flowers.
The flowing, curved wave pattern wraps around its form, as if capturing the gentle rhythm of water in solid clay.
