This set of Woodfired Jian Shui and Scoop is unglazed. Its soft markings and nuanced play of color are the result of the unpredictable nature of woodfiring. The fire, ash, and flames leave their signature, making each piece unique.

Jian Shui

A blend of functionality and beauty, this waste water bowl is crafted to collect the water used to rinse and preheat teaware. The flower-shaped opening is inspired by the Camellia sinensis blossom. Its wood-fired surface reveals a range of dark grey tones with lighter spots, offering new discoveries of flame marks and color variations each day. Unglazed inside and out, it feels raw yet refined, perfect for solo tea sessions or gatherings with friends. Holding up to 37 oz (1.1 liters), it balances aesthetics with practicality.

Petal Scoop

A handcrafted ceramic scoop, designed for the tea ceremony to retrieve tea leaves from a bag or storage jar, present them to guests, and gracefully transfer them into teapot. Its smooth surface and organic, slightly asymmetrical shape are inspired by the look and feel of a gently curved petal. Designed to rest comfortably in the palm, it invites touch and interaction—much like a petal carried by the wind before gently coming to rest on the ground.

3.9 x 3.2 x 0.7 in // 10 x 8.5 x 1.8 cm

Only one set was made, shaped and fired as part of a single kiln process. No two pieces are alike, and none can be exactly replicated.
