A unique wicker basket designed to be carried as a backpack, designed by Liva Franke, a tea practitioner whose life is deeply connected with tea culture. Created from years of personal practice and countless tea journeys, the design reflects an understanding of what it means to carry tea into the world.
Each basket is handmade by skilled Latvian weavers using locally grown wicker. The traditional weaving technique gives every piece its own subtle character, while thoughtful details make it practical for real tea travel.
After several rounds of redesign and refinement, the basket became a great companion for carrying teaware safely and comfortably: from a forest tea session to a tea ceremony far from home. The back panel remains firm and protective while sitting comfortably against the body, avoiding the pressure points that can make carrying heavier baskets difficult. The basket is finished with soft leather straps for comfortable carrying and is available in a natural earthy tone made from unpeeled wicker, preserving the warmth and texture of the material.
Inside, there is space for a generous tea setup: a kettle, a teapot, up to 14 bowls, a jian shui, tea leaves, and other essentials.
